Chinaza Asiegbu is a current first-year JD Candidate at Harvard Law School and a recent graduate from Harvard College. There, she studied History, African Studies, and French. She has been committed to making positive contributions to the African diaspora in her academic, social, and community spheres. In undergrad, Chinaza was Treasurer of the Nigerian Students Association and served as founder and President of the Harvard chapter of the United Nations Association. She created digital web exhibitions and research guides showcasing African culture and race theory with the UNESCO archives. She also interned with Integrity Initiatives International to design and campaign for the formation of an International Anti-Corruption Court, incorporating the African perspective. Many of her works and scholarship concerning African/black development, legally and historically, can be found on the web.
As the daughter of Nigerian immigrants to the US, Chinaza hopes to use her privilege and platform to further the interests of black people globally—whether that be through celebrating African art and culture, defending the rights of Africans to govern themselves and partake equally on the global frontier, or reminding the world to respect and honor the dignity of African people.
